Lab at MRCG-LSHTM

During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I was involved as an essential staff member in the molecular laboratory investigations of the COVID-19 samples at the MRCG-LSHTM MDx Platform. My appointment as Molecular Lab Supervisor at the MRC Basse field station had me directly involved in laboratory management and overseeing the activities of several other research projects/teams in both the microbiology/molecular diagnostic laboratories. During this period, while overseeing malaria and COVID-19 research activities, I simultaneously worked on Staphylococcus aureus resistance (AMR) to the frontline antibiotics used in the Gambia.
